Warren Wantz

Warren Wantz began his career in the Motor Vehicle Industry as a young man in 1962. Starting out as a parts truck driver, he held every job in the parts department and within five years moved in to parts department management.

Most of Warren’s career was spent as a Parts & Service Director for some of the most successful dealerships in the Washington D.C. area. Many of the positions Warren held were for cutting edge mega-dealer groups that had high standards and they invested heavily in new technologies and improved ways of doing business.

Warren joined Gil Weiss and Associates in 2006. Warren’s mission was to develop a comprehensive Service Advisor Training Curriculum. It starts with a full day introductory module titled the “Ten Steps to Service Supremacy”. This is an overview of how to properly handle customers effectively and efficiently as well as managing the day to day challenges of a busy service department. After all Service Consultants at a client dealership have completed the “Ten Step” course, they receive ongoing monthly training that introduces a new module on a more specific topic each time. Warren has been able to draw on over four decades of experience in researching and developing these modules.

Warren also performs comprehensive parts department analysis for dealers with troubled parts operations. He uncovers the problems and recommends cost effective solutions for matters involving both personnel and process management. He uses on-site inspection and financial analysis to determine how to better leverage the dealers assets and free-up idle capital.

Warren has provided consulting services where dealer buy-out takes place to oversee the independent inventory and parts department audit.

While his area of responsibility lies in parts and service training and consulting, his in depth knowledge of motor vehicles has allowed him to assist in developing and teaching salespeople technical concepts in the auto, truck, and power-sports industries.
