Company history

Gil Weiss began his automotive sales training career in the late 1980's as he grew in to the position of in-house Training Manager for what was then the largest Honda dealership in America.  He was subsequently recruited to design and run a training program for what was then the Washington D.C. Regions number one Ford Dealership.  Eight years ago Gil began marketing his services to individual dealerships and manufacturers alike.  Today Gil Weiss and Associates has a staff of full time trainers with expertise in sales, parts and service.

Recently Gil began speaking throughout the United States at real estate investment seminars on the subject of negotiating.  He has partnered with real estate investment expert Donna Bauer in Cincinnati Ohio, who is nationally known as the NoteBuyer and is among the top speakers in America.  The course is titled "Negotiating is Not a Contact Sport".  The new venture is named Trophy Education Unlimited, LLC.

In July 2010 Gil left the company to become Director of Curriculum Developement for the National Automobile Dealers Association.  The company is now known as The Automotive Training Team and continues the standard of excellence established by our founder.

 Dear Karl & Gil:

Thanks again for all the great training. And guess what? I SOLD MY FIRST CAR ON OUR FIRST DAY!!!! I sold a brand new Ford Edge! I was the first one out of our group to sell a car too!! The guy paid sticker price and all. He really wanted a black but I told him that a black one "would show those swirl marks" and the Lt. Sage that we had in stock was the color you would find the "world's top ten luxury cars in" I was so chuckling to myself. Anyway I thought you guys would get a kick out of hearing this.

Have a great day and I'll keep you updated.

Thanks again,
Kim Marcey

Dear Karl

It isn’t always fun going to a training class 50 miles away-but you guys made training fun and interesting. I mean… what a great excuse to meet some really impressive people in the car business.

I can’t thank you enough for having me in your sales training class this week. I appreciate all of your time and patience explaining things to me (sometimes more than once J). I have learned so much in the past couple of days. Hopefully with all the knowledge and tools you have given me, I will be as successful as you are!

Again, thank you so much.

 Dear Gil Weiss & Associates,

I would like to thank you and your team for a very informative and professional week of what I would consider "A Must for every new vehicle sales consultant". I was genuinely impressed with the overall training packet presented by the instructors that combined over 60 years of experience in the automotive business.

    • The material was well written and easy to understand, allowing the concept of the automotive business to make sense in various situations.

    • Overall presentation was professionally prepared and provided the basic know how with strong powerfull wording that will become a part of my vocabulary.

    • Even more impressive was the instructor's ability to transfer years of experiance and technique into simple concepts that everyone could comprehend, and more importantly immediately apply.

The class was energetic and motivating, this caliber of training puts the particapants months ahead of their counterparts that skip such an important part of what is to become a very rewarding career.

Sincerly,
